Readiness for Online Learning: Learners’ Comfort and Self-Directed Learning Ability

The need for transforming conventional learning to online among educational institutions during the coronavirus outbreak is inevitable. However, this shift comes with many challenges both learners and teachers as they have become habitual traditional method such a long time. Research has shown that one of factors found be valid predictor successful completion coursework students’ readiness (OLR). Therefore, paper reports results an investigation into in private university South Vietnam. Readiness self-evaluation survey 4-Likert scale was administered 304 undergraduate students. questionnaire highlighted two dimensions: learners’ comfort e-learning their self-directed learning. Responses were coded analyzed by SPSS calculate descriptive statistics reliability. Data analysis revealed level these students only at moderate level, which may account resistance adoption substitute classroom-based amidst disease crisis. Based on findings study, some pedagogical implications are also discussed.
